Six; Finishing the stack of waffles

Good morning,  I am back to finish my blog from the other day. in the previous blog I intended to talk about the quotes I had found as well as review my tutoring session and recent group class, however I decided to end on the quotes and start fresh here with the second part of my agenda.  Our group class this week was all about our influences, finding our influences and looking at our influences from different perspectives. I had already made a long list of my influences and categorised them before this class however throughout this class I found so many more influences to add that I would have never expected. for example I realised that I had negative experiences that influenced me just as much as the positive ones. before this class I hadn't considered how the result of a negative experience can influence you to do the things you always wanted to do; obviously in life I had realised this, just not in the context of this project.  hearing what the rest of the group...

Five; Just a stack of waffles

Hello, as promised I am back to do a proper blog this time (yes I am a day later than I said I would but who's counting)  The title of this blog is what it is because its come to that time when I'm seriously thinking about the essay, I have written my plan in a bullet proof format and my next stage will be writing it into an academic essay. However I have been told many times in the past that I tend to waffle, and while I prefer to see it less as waffle and more as a beautifully descriptive exploration, I understand that our 2500 word essay brief will not. this leads me into my next point of HOW WILL I FIT IN EVERYTHING I WANT TO TALK ABOUT ?? but then in my tutoring session this morning Pedro kindly reminded me that there is no word limit for our blogs, therefore my conclusion is that as I start my essay writing and editing process I will come to the blogs to write about all the other things I know I may not be able to include in the final essay.  Today my plan for thi...

Four; progress

Hello,  I’m going to come on here tomorrow and write a blog in my normal style, talk about my thoughts and share some quotes I’ve been finding that link to my professional practice. However right now I thought it would be a good time to make a list of what I’ve done so far, almost as a check point as I feel like I have done a lot this week and I am in a place where I have began to make solid decisions on my topics.  1) complied a list of research I want to do for my topics.    2) downloaded / found books and papers I want to be studying with  3) began reading recommended reading and above research  4) made an essay plan with 4 topics I was considering  5) re-evaluated essay plan after zoom lesson and have leaned towards and amended my now 3 topics  6) made a detailed list of influences in my practice and why  7) beginning to think about my artifact  See you tomorrow for more details on these!  T, D

Three; an abundance of clarity

hello blog,  This week I've been very busy but I've been making the time to try and develop as many ideas and topics to potentially explore throughout this module as possible. With this came excitement as well as frustration and definitely A LOT of questions. But as you can guess from the title of this blog post; after my tutoring session, I am feeling a lot better and feel like I can now take my old and new ideas further and most likely open a brand new box of questions.  One thing I realised id been doing so far this module is focusing too much on what I think I need to do to get a good mark, rather than exploring things I want to talk about and working from there to make sure I progress those ideas to a standard that makes me proud. This comes from negative past experiences with the examination world, but I have decided from now on I am putting that behind me, allowing myself to create and explore my profession within my own realms, which I think is much more what thi...
